James Robin

Acting

overview
James is a Sydney-based actor graduating from the Academy of Film, Theatre and Television (AFTT). With over a decade of acting experience in theatre, film, voice-over, and motion capture, James strives to deliver grounded, memorable performances that audiences relate to, bringing playwrights' stories to life in a new and exciting way.

From his first acting role in musical theatre at the age of 12, Beauty and the Beast, James has always had a fascination with storytelling and performing. With this newfound joy of acting, he joined local theatre classes for film and theatre. James later briefly studied at NIDA before completing his BA in Creative Arts (Acting).

James has recently been in theatre productions of As You Like It with Fingerless Theatre, The Frogs: In Hell The Sing Show Tunes at New Theatre, and King Lear with Such Stuff Productions. He also performed as the lead in several short films - a couple produced by AFTRS - and many with professional productions, which have been submitted for multiple Film Festivals.

James’ stage credits include:
Musician/Ensemble in As You Like It (Fingerless Theatre, 2026), Charon in The Frogs: In Hell The Sing Show Tunes (Dir. Alex Kendall Robson, 2025), Edgar in King Lear (Such Stuff Productions, 2025), Captain Stanhope in Sergent Snow White (Belvior St Theatre, 2024), Posthumous from Cymbeline (Dir. Sean O’Riordan, 2024), Tybalt from Romeo and Juliet (Point Break Drama Co., 2023), Melchior Gabor in Spring Awakening, (Dir. Deborah Jones, 2022).
